What kinds of expenses does SACS, Inc. help with?

SACS, Inc. will help pay almost any type of bills that an approved applicant needs help with. Help can be given in areas such as utilities, medical, perscriptions, groceries and gas. Cash is not given directly to
recipients, instead checks are paid directly to the respective source. Vouchers and gift certificates are also given for items such as gas and food.

How do I apply?

A two page application is filled out and submitted to SACS,Inc. board of directors. The first page requests information such as name, address and the type of assistance requested. Page two is a medical information
release form which allows the board of directors to verify that the applicant has been diagnosed with cancer. No information other than the diagnosis confirmation is requested.

Is my application for support confidential?

A nine member board of directors works together and reviews all applications. Upon cancer diagnosis verification the applicant is then notified. All information received and discussed remains confidential.

How much money is given to applicants approved for assistance?

Every qualified applicant has different circumstances. The board of directors review all applications and allocates funds based on each applicant's needs.

How much money is spent on administrative costs for SACS, Inc.?

SACS, Inc. pays no salaries or wages. The organization is made up of volunteers giving of their time and energy. Board members are not paid. Administrative costs are kept to a minimum and include only expenses such
as printing, postage and advertising.

Are my contributions to SACS, Inc. deductible on my tax return?

Yes. SACS, Inc. is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in section 501(c)(3). Donors may deduct contributions to SACS, Inc. to the extent that
the contributions are gifts, with no consideration received.
